COMEDY THEATRE

I developed the logo and corporate identity of the young Ukrainian Comedy Theater. My task was to develop a modern identity that would work for audiences of all ages, including young people. The logo is based on modern visual trends, but at the same time retains its history. I wanted to emphasize that the Comedy Theater is a modern theater, following European trends in theatrical art..

The Challenge

The theater logo is a bridge between the past and the future. It is modern in form, but remembers traditions. And at the same time, it is a deliberately incidental, “comedy” sign. Comedy is a contradiction, a conflict, between the funny and the serious, but which makes you think about many things. The logo has dynamics, which is achieved by contrasting combinations of a recognizable image of a comedian and a strict business font.

Feel the pulse of theater with a modern style and attitude

I am a completely non-theatrical person and I consider this a plus – it gives the opportunity to look at the sphere from the outside and soberly assess the situation. When I started working, I studied the identity of European and American theaters. I did not particularly look at the local ones, here almost everyone now has problems with visual language. It seems that the people working in them have not yet understood that the wrapper is as important as the production and text. Therefore, very good performances often have absolutely disgusting posters.
